Literati Lounge | A Book Club Inspired by Tea Culture

Tea is never simply tea.

It carries history, philosophy, ritual, aesthetics, memory, place, and the knowledge passed between generations.

Literati Lounge is Admari’s book club inspired by tea culture. Together, we explore literature that deepens the way we understand tea, while also opening broader conversations about art, hospitality, spirituality, material culture, identity, and the human experience.

Our selections may include historical tea texts, philosophy, memoir, fiction, cultural criticism, poetry, or works that invite us to look more closely at the world around us. Some books speak directly about tea. Others help us understand the ideas and traditions that tea brings into the room.

Each book cycle includes two gatherings designed to create a slower, more connected reading experience.

Session One | Opening Conversation & Guided Overview

Our first gathering introduces the book, its author, and the historical, cultural, or philosophical context surrounding the work.

We begin the conversation together, explore key themes, and create a thoughtful foundation for reading.

Session Two | Reflection & Closing Discussion

Our second gathering takes place after the reading period and offers space for collective reflection.

Together, we discuss important passages, questions, lasting impressions, and the ways the book connects to tea culture, ritual, creativity, hospitality, and contemporary life.

We meet twice per book: the first to introduce, the second to integrate.

Guests are welcome to attend either gathering individually, although participation in both sessions is encouraged to experience the full arc of the conversation.
