Tea as Ritual | Summer 2026

A Six-Part Journey into Tea as a Living Practice

Tea as Ritual is an immersive series exploring tea as a lived, embodied practice rather than a performance. Guided by Adrienne Etkin, Tea Educator and Cultural Guide, this journey invites participants into a slower, more intentional relationship with tea, grounded in presence, humility, and care.

This summer cohort offers the full Tea as Ritual course in a condensed seasonal format. Across six weekly sessions and a culminating closing ceremony, participants move step by step: from establishing a personal tea practice, to deepening sensory awareness and discernment, to sharing tea as ritual within community.

At its essence, Tea as Ritual is about finding the sacred in the ordinary. Ritual here is lived rather than performed, cultivated through sincerity, repetition, and restraint. Each participant is invited to discover what feels true for them and to weave that understanding into daily life with depth and beauty.

A basic familiarity with true tea, Camellia sinensis, is recommended. For those who have not previously taken Two Leaves & a Bud, this foundational course is strongly encouraged. It will be offered in Early July.

PRACTICAL DETAILS

Missed Sessions

Tea as Ritual is designed as a progressive journey, with each session building upon the last. If you are unable to attend a session, key materials and notes will be shared when appropriate. One missed session is permitted. Additional support or make-up sessions may be available at the discretion of the instructor and may incur an additional fee.

Commitment

This is a live, immersive program intended for sincere students of tea. Presence and participation are essential to the experience. Spaces are intentionally limited to support depth, discussion, and meaningful connection within the cohort.

Connection

A private WhatsApp circle will be created for this cohort to support connection between sessions. This space is intended for sharing reflections, questions, observations, and insights as your tea practice develops. Upon completion of the program, participants will be welcomed into the ongoing Tea as Ritual alumni circle, connecting past and present students through a shared practice of tea.

Practice & Integration

Tea as Ritual is both experiential and personal. Following each session, participants will receive simple practices designed to support integration between classes. These may include tea sessions, journaling prompts, sensory awareness exercises, reading assignments, or observational practices. The goal is not perfection, but consistency; allowing tea to gradually become part of daily life.

Student Benefits

From registration through the completion of the program, participants receive:

• 15% off most teas
• 10% off teaware
• 15–20% off select tea experiences and events
• Special student pricing for ongoing practice offerings

Some exclusions may apply.

CommuniTea Table & Liquid Meditation

Students are encouraged to participate in the wider tea community throughout the program. During the Summer Session, CommuniTea Table is available to Tea as Ritual students for $15 per session, and Liquid Meditation for $25 per gathering. Friday Members' Lounge may be available for independent study and practice with prior approval.

Closing Ceremony | July 31, 2026

Our journey concludes with a closing ceremony and tea gathering. This evening serves as both a celebration and a completion of the work cultivated throughout the program. Participants will be invited to share tea, reflect on their experience, and embody the principles explored throughout the course.

Students are welcome to invite friends and family. Seating is limited, and advance registration for guests may be required.
