Unlike neatly cultivated tea gardens, these Da Bai bushes grow throughout wild mountain fields among native trees, forest vegetation, and mineral-rich soil. The tea is not planted in uniform rows. Pickers must move through the mountain terrain to locate the scattered bushes and select only the finest unopened spring buds.

The harvest is both slow and highly selective. The buds must be gathered during a brief seasonal window, then carefully withered and dried to preserve their natural sweetness, fine silver down, and delicate aromatic character.

This classic tea begins with the careful selection of young, tender green tea leaves and buds, harvested in early spring. These leaves are meticulously hand-rolled into small pearls, ensuring they unfurl slowly during brewing to release their full flavor and aroma. Jasmine flowers are picked during the day and kept cool until evening when they open and release their intoxicating fragrance.
