Floral + Umami-Rich Japanese Matcha

PREORDER | Arriving November 11 (Reserve yours now! Available for in-studio pickup or shipping beginning November 11. Orders will be fulfilled in the order received.)

Ceremony is an exceptional first-harvest Japanese matcha selected for its aromatic lift, pronounced umami, and beautifully rounded presence in the bowl. Floral and expressive, it opens with fresh sweetness and soft green aromatics before developing into a full, silky body with deep savory richness and a long, refined finish.

Its fragrance is one of Ceremony’s defining qualities. In the warmed bowl, floral and creamy aromatics rise immediately, setting the stage for a matcha that feels both lifted and substantial. The first sip brings fresh green sweetness and gentle vegetal character, followed by concentrated umami that builds gradually across the palate.

The texture is equally compelling. Ceremony is silky, round, and smooth, with a generous body that gives the tea depth while preserving clarity and elegance. Floral lift and savory richness move together throughout the bowl, creating a matcha that feels layered, expressive, and beautifully composed.

Made from shade-grown tencha from Kagoshima and Shizuoka, Ceremony brings together Asanoka, Yabukita, and Tsuyuhikari cultivars in a first-harvest expression chosen for its fragrance, sweetness, umami, and refined texture. The finished tea reflects the skill of a fifth-generation Japanese tea producer with more than 150 years of tea-making history. Admari has sourced tea from this producer since 2008.

Ceremony was selected for the quality of the tea prepared simply with water, where its floral aromatics, silky texture, fresh sweetness, and layered umami can unfold fully.

Its generous body also gives Ceremony beautiful versatility. Over ice, its fresh aromatic character becomes especially vivid. With milk, its depth and texture remain clearly present, creating a rich and refined matcha latte while allowing the tea itself to remain central to the finished drink.

Ceremony is especially rewarding when preparation becomes part of the experience: the warmed bowl, the scent of the matcha before whisking, the texture of the foam, and the progression from floral aroma to savory depth.

Our matcha is milled in regular six-to-eight-week cycles, allowing us to work with fresh Japanese matcha throughout the year. Matcha is especially sensitive to air, light, heat, moisture, and surrounding aromas, making freshness an essential part of preserving its fragrance, color, texture, sweetness, and flavor.

Ceremony is floral, umami-rich, silky, round, and refined; a first-harvest Japanese matcha created for attention, presence, and the pleasure of an exceptional bowl.
